James Martin Mollel

James Martin Mollel, from the Maasai tribe, was born in 1977 in the Arusha region. He grew up in Maasai-land and adopted the culture and traditions. He completed Laroi primary school in 1985, and his secondary education, from the Arusha Catholic Seminary, in 1999. After graduation his interests led him to complete courses such as first aid, refugee care, and home-based care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

In 2004 he decided to pursue his studies to be a tour guide at the Big Five Tourism College. James is both knowledgable and experienced in several areas of tour guiding. They include walking safaris and wildlife safaris in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania’s National Parks. He also works in the Africa VIP Travel office planning and organizing safaris for clients.

James speaks four languages — English, French, Kiswahili, and Maasai. Having a warm, outgoing personality, he enjoys meeting and talking with people from different countries and backgrounds, and exchanging ideas and information with them. In his free time he enjoys listening to music.
